Kad Merad is a French-Algerian filmmaker and actor who has acted both on stage and on screen.

Marcellin "Marcel" Cerdan was a French professional boxer and world middleweight champion who was considered by many boxing experts and fans to be France's greatest boxer, and beyond to be one of the best to have learned his craft in Africa. His life was marked by his sporting achievements, social lifestyle and ultimately, tragedy, being killed in an airplane crash.

Jean-François Larios is a French former professional football midfielder. He earned seventeen international caps for the French national team during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Houda-Imane Faraoun, also spelled Feraoun, is an Algerian physicist and materials scientist who has served as the Minister of Post, Information Technology & Communication in the government of Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal since 1 May 2015. She is also a professor of Physics at the University of Tlemcen, a post she has held in various capacities since 2006. She holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Sidi Bel Abbès and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Technology of Belfort-Montbéliard.

Alain Mimoun, born Ali Mimoun Ould Kacha was an Algerian-born French long-distance runner who competed in track events, cross-country running and the marathon. He was the 1956 Olympic champion in the marathon. He is the most bemedalled French athletics sportsperson in history. In 1999, readers of the French athletics magazine Athlétisme Magazine voted him as the “French Athlete of the 20th Century”.
